Highway Cricket Club
Highway Spartans Cricket Club is an amateur cricket club in Tile Hill, Coventry, Warwickshire. Founded in 1983 their 1st XI is currently in Warwickshire Cricket League Premier Division after many years in the Birmingham and District Cricket League. They run 3 further sides on Saturdays.
After years of success with famous players such as New Zealand international Shayne O'Connor, Pakistani Moin Mumtaz who dismissed Jacques Kallis in 1994 and Warwickshire bowler Neville Bulpitt
In recent years Grant Thornton has left for Berkswell CC, Jamie Marsh to Leamington CC 2nd XI. Highway CC are now relying on Tom Yardley and specialist fielder Michael Convery.
One huge benefit for the Highway Club is the fact that they have (not one, not two, but) three bars. Had it not been for this fact, there's a very reasonable chance that many other players would have left for Standard CC. They unfortunately do not have any. Furthermore, Warwickshire Premier Division.
In 2015 they merged with Meriden Spartans Cricket Club to form Highway Spartans Cricket Club
