Life
Rasula grew up in Los Angeles as one of two daughters of a Chinese mother and a Finnish father.[1] Her grandfather, George A. Rasula, was a colonel in the U.S. Army.[2] When Rasula was in middle school, her family moved to Canada; she spent her senior year of high school in France.[3]
Rasula studied film production at York University in Toronto. She received her training in film editing as an assistant to Michèle Hozer, with whom she worked on numerous Canadian film and television productions. After working as an assistant editor in Canada for over ten years, Rasula returned to Los Angeles in 2009, where she has since worked as a freelance film editor.[4]
Starting in 2011, she began editing episodes of television series. From 2014 to 2017, Rasula edited 11 episodes of the television series Transparent. In 2020, Rasula was responsible for editing three episodes of the anthology series Little America. In 2021, she collaborated with director B. J. Novak on editing several episodes of the dramedy television series The Premise, and in 2022, she also edited the dark comedy Texas Chain Saw Massacre with Andy Canny and Plummy Tucker. In 2023, Rasula edited Cord Jefferson's film adaptation of American Fiction.[5][6][7][8]
Rasula has been a member of the American Cinema Editors since 2018.[9]
