House of Legacy is an upcoming 4x sandbox strategy game developed by S3 Studios and published by Thermite Games. Released for early access on 15 May 2025 via Steam for Microsoft Windows, the game is set in Imperial China after a rebellion which split the empire, where the player is tasked with rebuilding and expanding their clan by building shops, applying for official positions and leading military battles against rebels.

Gameplay

The player has control over a clan, starting off with one member, and must grow their clan members either through marriages and giving birth to new members, or by in-game events. They can have clan members work odd-jobs, trade in the capital of provinces, collect shop and rent revenues, and hire retainers to earn money. They can also buy farms or build them in their fiefs, growing crops, herding animals or creating artisan workshops.

Clan members can also participate in imperial examinations and gaining ranks to get official positions within the government, or participate in battles against the rebels to gain military positions, with the possibility of gaining nobility and fiefs. With enough military and government positions, the player can initiate an attack against the throne and crown one of their clan members as emperor, which will create a cadet branch of their clan, giving the player total control over the empire, and having their clan be recognized as "Imperial Kinship Clan".

Development

The game is developed by S3 Studios in the Unity engine and is currently in early access.
