House of Valaya

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The House of Valaya is a luxury fashion and lifestyle house in India. It is involved in design, manufacturing and retail of apparels (Couture, Diffusion and Prêt-o-Porter), home accessories and signature tapestries under a host of brand names. It was founded by brothers JJ Valaya and TJ Singh in 1992.[1]

The House of Valaya is located at Manesar on the outskirts of New Delhi. The factory space covers 40,000 sq. feet.

The Diasun is a stamp that authenticates the products from the House of Valaya. To prevent plagiarism of Valaya creations, the group developed a pattern that would be a part of each garment manufactured by the design house. It is a significant concept in the Indian design and brand protection scenario. Being the first one to adopt this, the group has not only enabled its collections to be easily identified by prospective clients but has also provided for additional recourses for protecting them.[2][3][4]

Brands[edit]

The brand features various lines of clothing.[5][6][7]

  • JJ Valaya Muse: The bespoke single edition label.
  • JJ Valaya: The couture line.
  • Valaya Quantum: The ready-to-wear collection for men and women.
  • Valaya Base: a luxury ready to wear line, for men and women.
  • Valaya Home: Soft furnishings (decorative pillows, cushions and coordinates). Besides retail, the label undertakes commissioned works for private and corporate collectors.
  • The Home of the Traveler: The Home of the Traveler is a collection of individual pieces handpicked personally by JJ Valaya from across the world during his travels.
  • The Free Spirit Foundation: A CSR prerogative of the House of Valaya aimed at the welfare of the girl child, including every facet of her growth through education, health care and livelihood. Currently the foundation runs a center in the suburbs of Delhi where over 150 girls are being imparted primary level education during the morning session and expert vocational coaching to senior girls in the afternoon session to prepare them for higher classes.[8][6]

Fashion Weeks[edit]

The group has showcased its collections at various fashion weeks across the globe in cities like Dubai, Paris, London, Germany, New York City, Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong.[9] Nationally the group has been a part of The Bangalore Fashion Week, Lakme India Fashion Week, Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week,[10] Van Heusen Men's India Fashion Week[11] and the Delhi Couture Week[12] apart from organizing its solo shows.
