Hrishikesh J. Chury is a Bollywood playback singer and performer. He lends his voice for Hindi and Marathi songs. Some of his popular songs are ‘Tang Uthake’ from the movie Housefull 3 & 'Mehafooz' from the movie Tera Intezaar.[1][2] He was also the Grand Jury at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs 2017.[3]

Early Life[edit]

Hrishikesh Chury was born in an education-centric family. He has spent his growing years in Mumbai. He has studied at King George, IES School in Dadar. He went on to complete his graduation in Business Management from MMK College in Bandra. He has obtained degrees such as Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Event Management from National Institute of Event Management in Vile Parle, Masters of Commerce (MCom) in Human Resources and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources.

Mentors[edit]

Hrishikesh Chury has received singing mentorship from Pandit Bhavdeep Jaipurwale, a celebrity judge for various television singing shows; Shri Yeshwant Dev, a Marathi music director; and Shri. Suresh Wadkar’s Institute.[4]

Singing Career[edit]

Hrishikesh Chury made his singing debut in the Bollywood movie ‘Naughty@40’ released in 2011 featuring Bollywood actor Govinda. He sang the song ‘Hey Yaar Sunlo Jara’.

In 2016, he shot to fame with the song ‘Tang Uthake’ for the comedy movie Housefull 3 starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, and Lisa Haydon in the lead roles.[5]

He has sung for the Indian National Anthem dedicated to farmers called 'Mitti' which featured farmers of India alongside popular singers Hariharan, Papon, Roop Kumar Rathod, Harshdeep Kaur, Divya Kumar, Jasvinder Singh and Meenal Jain.[6]

Achievements[edit]

He has received an award for the Best Playback Singer for the song ’Tang uthaa Ke’ from the movie Housefull 3 at Jaipur Music Festival and Awards’ held at Mansarovar in Rajasthan.[7]

Philanthropy[edit]

He is actively involved in various philanthropy activities. He is the Founder-President of NGO a registered charitable trust based in Mumbai dedicated to the upliftment of underprivileged and the society.[8] Inaugurated by Smt. Amruta Fadnavis; wife of Shri. Devendra Fadnavis (Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra), the NGO has Exemption granted under 80G of Income Tax Act is spearheading into many government affiliated social work programs and assisting the corporate in their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Projects.[9]

Since his childhood, he has always been inclined towards various social service activities. He was appointed as the head of his College’s NSS unit (National Service Scheme) & was also the President of Rotaract Club (in Mumbai), a youth wing of Rotary International.[10]
