Hugh Bennett (political adviser)

Hugh Bennett (born 1990/91)[1] is a British political adviser to the Conservative Party MP Jacob Rees-Mogg.[2] He studied natural sciences at the University of Cambridge and began working as a journalist for City AM and i. During the 2016 Brexit referendum he worked for the Vote Leave campaign. Afterwards he worked for the news website BrexitCentral and in July 2018 was appointed news editor at the right-wing website Guido Fawkes. He has a reputation for producing successful viral video campaigns.[1] In September 2019, Parliament passed a motion requiring that he hand over any communications related to Operation Yellowhammer and the prorogation of parliament.[3]
