Human Rights and Peace Center is a research and academic- based institution for human rights and peace building established by Makerere University school of Law in 1993 with specification in teaching, advocacy and activism on human rights issues including, good governance and peace. It focuses on research ,compilation and documentation of local and regional human rights ,and peace building materials.[1]

Projects[edit]
Regional Rights and Peace Fellowship(RRPF)[edit]
The objective of the project is to assess the role of religion within the demotion and promotion of human rights, peace, social justice equity and transparency.[4]
Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCRs) Project[edit]
The objective of ESCRS project is to policy oriented research on the economic situation, social and cultural rights in Uganda .[5]The project research areas include HIV/AIDS and the rights to health care, Poverty and adequate living standards, promotion and protection of cultural rights .the right to shelter and housing.[6]
