History[edit]

Idrottsföreningen kamraterna i Björneborg was founded on 4 February 1919. Nils Nylander was selected to be the first chairman of the club. Other members of the governing body of the team were Carl Erik Olin, Wilhelm Guerillot, Nils and Sven-Erik Rosenlew. A month after that, the club applied for membership of the Finlands Svenska Idrottsförbund.

BIFK played its first bandy game almost immediately after being founded in February. It played against the Pori SLU and lost 4–0.

BIFK continued playing bandy throughout the 1920s. In 1922, the club considered adding tennis and athletics to its operations.
