Early Life
Ifiok Michael Ekanem, popularly known as Ifiboy, is a Nigerian-born Afro Pop Singer, Song Writer, Recording Artiste and a Graphics Designer who hails from Akwa-Ibom State, Nigeria.
Ifiboy was born on the 27th of August 2001 in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Nigeria, into a family of 4, and he is the last child amongst his siblings.
Ifiboy developed a very strong passion for music at the age of 15, drawing inspiration from legendary musicians like Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, Majek Fashek and 2pac.
Educational Background
He attended Army Children's School Dalet Barracks Kaduna where he obtained his First School Leaving certificate. He then proceeded to Wisdom Academy Kaduna where he did his Junior Secondary School and later concluded his Senior Secondary School at Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi Government Secondary School Hayin Banki Kaduna, after which he gained admission into Federal Polytechnic Kaduna (Kadpoly) to study Computer Science.
He began taking music seriously after his secondary school days in Kaduna, where he created a small music group back then in school which he called Tha Golden Stars Music Group.
Career
In 2020 he released his first official single titled "Infinite Love". He then went on releasing "Letter To My Past" and other singles.
In 2021 he released a love song titled Unbreakable, which featured a fast rising Kaduna artiste called Slimfit and was produced by Stainless, though he's not a fan of making love songs, but the song gained a huge response from his fans.
He has worked with producers like Ja'ama, Stainless, Jamz, Prinxe Boko etc.
Ifiboy believes in hardwork and sincerity.
Awards
Following several research, Ifiboy has no award since his breakthrough in the Nigerian music scene.
However, it’s important to state that Nigerian artist Ifiboy is yet to receive any award in the Nigerian music industry but has been nominated for several awards.
Nevertheless, seeing how talented, creative and unique his sound is, it wouldn't be long before he begins to receive awards for his craft!
