The Incubateur HEC Paris is a business incubator dedicated to supporting startups from the ecosystem of the business school HEC Paris[1]. It is currently part of the Station F startup campus in Paris[2].

History[edit]

The Incubateur HEC Paris was created within HEC Paris in 2007, under the sponsorship of Pierre Kosciusko-Morizet (fr), co-founder of PriceMinister[3].

Since its creation, it was directed by Guilhem Bertholet[4] until 2011[5], then by Émilie Alliot-Abel[6], and since 2015 by Antoine Leprêtre[7][8].

The Incubateur HEC Paris is currently part of the HEC IDEA Center[9].

Operations[edit]

Location[edit]

Since 2017, the Incubateur HEC Paris has been part of the Station F startup campus in Paris[10], of which it was one of the first partners[11]. It is currently its biggest partner, occupying a space of 700 square meters, hosting more than 70 startups among 200 desks[12].

Selection criteria[edit]

The Incubateur HEC Paris require of applying startups founders to be part of the HEC Paris business school ecosystem (either by being alumni, or through passing certificates), as well as being fully dedicated to their project[13].

Startup support[edit]

The Incubateur HEC Paris claims to enable entrepreneurs to achieve in three months goals they would have reached in one year had they stayed alone[13], thanks to their providing access to a pool of experts and to their network of alumni entrepreneurs[14], as well as personal coaching for each startup[15].

Startups follow 3-month programs, which they can repeat up to 8 times[16].

Topics and partnerships[edit]

The Incubateur HEC Paris supports startups along specific industries in partnerships with corporations, such as Microsoft for data startups[17], or Icade, with which they created the "Urban Odyssey" program, focusing on smart city startups[18].

Incubated Startups[edit]

Since its creation, the Incubateur HEC Paris has helped more than 250 startups[19] which raised 49 million euros between 2009 and 2016[1], such as Leetchi (fr)[20], Bird Office (fr)[21], Innovorder (fr)[22], AdVitam (fr)[23], My Job Glasses (fr)[24], Madumbo[25], Monkey Tie (fr)[26] or Luko (fr)[27]
