Critical reception[edit]
On Rotten Tomatoes[6], the film was given a 50% tomatometer rating, based on 8 critics reviews. Doug Walker of Channel Awesome gave the film 3 of 4 stars, saying it was "an enjoyable throwback to Found Footage movies."[7] Alexander Harrison of Screen Rant gave the film 3 of 5 stars, saying that "The film finds a way to make what it's working with both tense and fun, even if a couple missteps chip away at what is an otherwise effective finale."[8] Josh Bell of Crooked Marquee gave the film a C- and said "The movie is full of repetitive dialogue and characters moving back and forth between rooms, just marking time before the belated, underwhelming scares."[9][better source needed] Joel Fisher of Battle Royale With Cheese gave a mixed review stating "Infrared puts itself across as a found footage movie, but not necessarily the kind you’d expect. There are far too few scares up until the very last second and when it does come, it feels completely unearned."[10][better source needed]
