Innocent is the second studio album by American metalcore band Behold Here's Poison. It was released on October 6, 2023, through Chronically Online Music Co., and was produced by Tanner Tholl, with some tracks on the deluxe edition being co-produced by Casio Robinson.
Background & promotion[edit]
On August 17, 2023, Behold Here's Poison released the first single "Innocent" along with an accompanying music video. The song quickly became their most popular work to date. On September 9, the band released the second single "Run Away" which features RevengeInKyoto. On December 23, the music video for "Let's Ask Jasper" was released.
On January 14, 2024, the band announced the deluxe reissue would be released on January 22, featuring remixed & remastered versions of "Theia" and "Disguises" done by Robinson, a live version of the song "Innocent", two transition tracks ("As We Crawled" and "Idle"), and a stripped version of the song "Collide", which was created by Robinson who does most vocals on the stripped version alternating with Tholl on choruses and some other lines.
Critical reception[edit]
Innocent received extremely positive reviews, with most reviewers noting the album "showcases their heaviness from the debut, but in a much more mature and developed manner". It averaged 9.3 points out of 10.
