Behold Here's Poison, often abbreviated as BHP, is an American metalcore band formed by bassist Brigham Johnson and drummer Tanner Tholl in 2022. Their music has a distinct sound with metalcore, melodic metalcore, post hardcore, and deathcore influences. The group consists of vocalist Devon Cobb, drummer/clean vocalist Tanner Tholl, guitarists Sawyer & Kayden Gauger, bassist/backing vocalist Brigham Johnson, and keyboardist/clean vocalist Casio Robinson.

Since their 2022 debut EP Unsaid, they have released three albums, titled Into The Void, Innocent, & To: Our Past Selves / From: Our Future Shades.

In September the band signed with Yumeno Records, a Salt Lake City based record label.

Formation & Lineup[edit]

Behold Here's Poison was formed in Evanston, Wyoming in 2022 by drummer/backing vocalist Tanner Tholl and bassist Brigham Johnson. They released their debut EP Unsaid on June 20, 2022, featuring the Canadian vocalist Voiicide. Guitarist Symon Herbst joined the band for the release of their debut EP No Wind Of Blame as well as frontman Devon Cobb, Zayden Mills joined for the release of Innocent, and Kayden Gauger & Casio Robinson joined for subsequent releases.

In June of 2024, the band parted ways with Mills over creative & personal differences. His spot in the band was then taken by Sawyer Gauger.

Influences[edit]

Tholl cites pop-punk/metalcore band A Day To Remember as an influence for the band's music, as well as Sumerian-core djent bands such as After The Burial, Oceans Ate Alaska, and Veil Of Maya.

Into The Void[edit]

Into The Void is the band's debut album, released on November 29, 2022, and was produced by drummer/backing vocalist Tanner Tholl. The album received average to positive ratings from critics, some stating the album is "well-structured, crushing, and perfectly melodic when it has to be", while others stated the band is "clearly learning, but this is a great start to their career". The album consists of mostly instrumentals alongside the tracks from the Unsaid EP as well as the band's hit song Collide. Into The Void received generally positive ratings, with an average score of 7.8/10.

Innocent[edit]

Innocent is the group's sophomore record, released on October 6, 2023. It was produced by drummer/backing vocalist Tanner Tholl. The lead single and title track Innocent was released on August 16, and continues to climb in popularity to this day. The band demonstrated spectacular growth in the contents of this record, with songs like Innocent, Run Away (ft. RevengeInKyoto) and Let's Ask Jasper showcasing their heavy and demolishing side, but in a much more mature manner. The album is meant to portray abusive authority as an evil, and is an advocate for freedom. Innocent received very positive ratings, boasting with an average score of 8.8/10.


To: Our Past Selves / From: Our Future Shades[edit]

To: Our Past Selves / From: Our Future Shades is the group's third record, released on August 9, 2024. It was produced by Casio Robinson. The band released Walking On Tracks in March, Petals in May, and Breath in July. The album was originally supposed to come out on July 5, but was delayed due to production and tracking delays. It is widely received as the band's best work to date, showcasing a wide range of musical versatility and displays the band trying out new sounds like on Breathe and To / From. It is a metaphorical concept album written about the underground railroads and tunnels, as well as skinwalker lore, in Wahsatch, Utah, close to the band's hometown of Evanston, Wyoming. The album received critical acclaim with an average rating of 9.5/10.

Unsaid EP[edit]

The band's first ever release, Unsaid, is an EP released on June 20, 2022, produced by Tanner Tholl. It consists of three songs, all of which feature backing vocals from Canadian Vocalist Voiicide. These three songs turned out to be tracks on the debut album Into The Void.

No Wind Of Blame[edit]

This EP was released on April 22, 2023, featuring the hit song Ashes, and the smasher The Piper (later remixed and remastered and added to the sophomore record Innocent), both songs doing very well. This EP introduced guitarist Symon Herbst. Disguises was the first song with Cobb on vocals.



New music & To: Our Past Selves / From: Our Future Shades[edit]

Behold Here's Poison have stated that they have begun work on new music with their new producer, aiming for a spring release in 2024. They have teased a concept album which tells a story about the past and future.

The single "Walking On Tracks" premiered on March 23, 2024. The band introduced a new era of the band and announced they are aiming for a spring album release.

The band went on to release the second single, "Petals" on May 24, and announced that their third full-length album, titled "To: Our Past Selves / From: Our Future Shades" would be released on July 5. They also revealed the track listing.

On June 27, the band announced via Instagram that their upcoming album would be delayed until August 9, because they felt they had more to add in terms of production and creativity. They also announced that a third single, "Breathe" would be released on July 5, the day the record would have been out.
