Inspera AS is a Norwegian education technology company headquartered in Oslo, Norway.[3] It provides software for digital assessment and remote proctoring to universities, awarding organisations, governments, municipalities, and schools.[4]
A number of universities have published localised instructions for students and staff on how to use Inspera's products.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16] Notable customers include the University of Oxford[12], the University of Cambridge[14], the Karolinska Institute[10], the University of New South Wales[15][16], and the University of Oslo[7].

The company was founded in 1999[17] under the name Mintraware AS, and was renamed Inspera AS in 2000[18]
In 2008, the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training started using Inspera Assessment for Norwegian national tests.[19]
The University of Agder had started using Inspera Assessment in 2015.[20] The Norwegian University of Science and Technology evaluated Inspera Assessment in 2015 and announced the intent to use it for digital exams in December 2015, with the goal of digitising all exams by the end of 2022.[21]
In 2016, Inspera signed deals with the Caribbean Examinations Council and Cambridge Assessment International Education.[19]
In 2019, the investment company Spring Capital and its owner Are Traasdahl invested in Inspera.[22][23]
University of New South Wales announced in November 2021 that they would begin rolling out Inspera in 2022.[24] The investment company CGE Partners invested in Inspera in 2021, buying out previous investor Spring Capital.[25][26][27][28]
In 2022, the contract with the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training ended, and Norwegian national tests were moved to a new solution.[29]
