Institute of Business Administration, Jahangirnagar University (IBA-JU) is the pioneer institution that started offering the Business Administration degree at the undergraduate level for the first time in Bangladesh.

Institute of Business Administration of Jahangirnagar University started as the Department of Business Administration (DBA) of Jahangirnagar University in 1991. After twenty years of successful decades of offering high quality and skillful business education, the Department has recently been transformed into Institute. The Institute offers 4-year full-time bachelor program (BBA), and one and half year full-time post-graduate program (MBA). And in 2011 it started Weekend MBA Program.
IBA Director[edit]
The Director of IBA is the chief administrative authority for the institution. The current Director is Professor Dr. Md. Motaher Hossain B.Sc Hons (Aligarh, India), MBA (Magadh, India) and Ph.D. (University of Helsinki, Finland).
Campus[edit]
The Institute is under Jahangirnagar University. As Jahangirnagar University is the only full residential university in Bangladesh, so the students of IBA-JU can enjoy their campus in JU. The university stands on the west side of the Asian Highway, popularly known as the Dhaka-Aricha Road, and is 32 kilometers away from the capital. Spread over a land area of 697.56 acres (2.8 km²), the campus surrounded by the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) on the south, and the Savar Cantonment on the northeast, on the north of which is the National Monument (Jatiyo Smriti Soudho)& a large dairy farm on the east. The topography of the land with its gentle rise & plains is shooting to the eye. The waterbodies sprawling around the campus makes an excellent habitat for the winter birds that flock in every year in thousands and bird watching here is a favourite pastime for many.

After twenty successful years of offering high quality business education and providing a significant number of efficient and skillful business graduates to the community, the Department has recently been transformed into Institute.
The objective of the Institute is to produce high-quality business graduates with knowledge and skills in order to cater the needs of the diverse business organizations of the country. Therefore the curriculum and courses are progressively revised and adjusted on the basis of the relevance to the national needs and the global trends. The Institute maintains constant relationship with the business and professional community, teachers, scholars and experts of the country to ensure the quality of its products – future business leaders. IBA-JU has all indispensable facilities for higher business education including a modern library, highly-equipped modern class rooms and a large computer centre for its students.
The Institute offers 4-year full-time bachelor program (BBA), and one and half year full-time post-graduate program (MBA). With the aim of achieving endless academic excellence and fulfilling the requirements of the business arena of the country, IBA-JU has recently launched a Weekend MBA (WMBA) program for professionals as well as for graduates from a wide range of disciplines. As a public Institute, IBA-JU is committed to deliver transparent and accountable academic practices.
As the pioneer of four years' BBA program in the country, we have recently introduced Weekend MBA which is also the first of its kind in the country. While our regular full-time BBA and MBA program is well known for their stalwart academic excellence, our Weekend MBA program stand out for its flexibility. As some of our peers provide a structured, lock-step curriculum, we use a light touch when it comes to course requirements. We believe that our students have the right to decide what they will study based on their individual interests and career aspirations.
The impact that IBA-JU has on management practice and public policy is driven by the activities of our extraordinary faculty as well as the achievements of our many illustrious alumni. Our students' relationship to the institute does not end at Convocation. We take seriously our responsibility not just to train students, but also to help launch their careers so they will have significant impact with the training that they receive here. A cohesive community of alumni, who remain active in the life of the institute, helps to amplify and spread this impact. We are committed to supporting our students' aspirations while here and beyond, and I am happy that many of our networks of more than 1,000 alumni feel a lasting affection for and connection with the institute. Many of our alumni give back in more ways than philanthropy – they mentor students and provide career advice and support.

- Undergraduate Admission:
The undergraduate program – Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at the Institute of Business Administration, Jahangirnagar University prepares students to manage and build enterprises that create value for stakeholders in a dynamic environment. In order to ensure the quality of the future business students, the Institute designs and carries out a rigorous admission test. The institute recruits students at this undergraduate level only once in a year. This undergraduate admission test is usually scheduled with the University's admission test.
- WMBA Admission:
The weekend MBA program is aimed to cater the needs of the individuals who have a desire to get a top-class masters degree in the business administration while maintaining their regular office schedules. This program attracts students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. For this reason, the Institute designs a comprehensive admission test that assesses the going-to-be students' skills in diverse fields.
