History[edit]

Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in 2000, when it started its first program of Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunication in collaboration with Allama Iqbal Open University.[1][2] It was the first private-sector institute in Pakistan to start a telecomm engineering program. It has branches in Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Lahore. It has run graduate programs in the areas of engineering, business administration and computer science in collaboration with Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) from 2000 to 2010. It is recognized by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC)[3][4][5] and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. It has been recognized by Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority, Pakistan. AIOU stopped its engineering program in 2006 due to the non existence of AIOU charter to commence any engineering program,[6] but all of its batches from 2000 to 2005 which include 1311 students were given recognition by Pakistan Engineering Council. From 2005, it started associate engineering programs which are affiliated with "Punjab board of technical education".
