International Academy of Social Sciences

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

International Academy of Social Sciences (IASS) was established in September 2008 by a group of scholars from around the world[1] gathered into the institution originally named as the Guild of Independent Scholars.

IASS is a Non-Profit Educational Organization (NGO) and a learned society registered in Florida (Delray Beach), Texas, and Costa Rica. Its structure is based on an international network of original founders from countries as diverse as Japan and Costa Rica. It should be noted that all active officers of IASS are voluntary and driven by the guiding principles of the organization.

IASS publishes[2] the Journal of Asia Pacific Studies[3][4] with aim to serve as an outlet for research dealing with the interdisciplinary field of Asia Pacific Studies and the Journal of Alternative Perspectives in the Social Sciences (JAPSS)[5] which is the journal in Sociology[6] and other social sciences[7][8]

President and Editor-in-chief since IASS foundation is the member of American MENSA Dr Otto F. von Feigenblatt PhD Ed.D FRAS FRAI.[9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] He is member of the US Council on the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific(CSCAP). Dr.Otto F. von Feigenblatt received the President's Lifetime Achievement Award by the President Barack Obama in 2015.[18]

JAPSS/JAPS/IASS has representatives (including editorial and advisory board) in the following countries: Thailand, Japan, Costa Rica, India, the United States of America, Canada, Spain, Norway, France, Peru, India, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Rumania, Morocco, Indonesia, Taiwan, South Africa and Australia.[19] IASS provides opportunity for memberships in several levels, and honors outstanding scholars and leaders. One of such honorees ("AcIASS", 2016)[20] is distinguished Cuban dissident and lawyer Pedro Fuentes Cid.[21]

IASS recently (2015) received the prestigious President's Volunteer Service Award at the Gold level for Education.[22][23]
