Iqbal Marwat

'Iqbal Marwat' (Mohammad Iqbal Marwat) was a Deputy Superintendent of Police in District Bannu, Pakistan.[1][2] He was riding in his official car accompanied by several police officers en route to inspect the site of an earlier bombing when his car was hit by a suicide bomber.[3] Marwat succumbed to his injuries in hospita., a total of 16 people were killed in the attack, including two police officers and three children.[1][4]

He was killed by Taliban in a suicide attack. It is believed that the bomb was in a cycle rickshaw.[1]

Iqbal received injury on his head during twin suicide bomb attack near Police Line Bannu. Iqbal Marwat reached the site of the blast after the first explosion. After Iqbal arrival on the scene a second suicide explosion took place. Iqbal was 32 years of age and served for UN peace keeping mission as well.[5][6][7]

His widow was awarded a tuition grant to cover her tuition at dental college, in recognition of her husband's service to his country.[8]
