Press release from the office of Hon'ble President of India dated 15th August 2019 announced the list of scholars declared for 'President Awards' the Certificate of Honour and Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman for the Year 2019 to be given to the candidates on 26th January 2020. Professor Iraq Raza Zaidi was the first name on the list for the award for language Persian. (1)

While his name was announced, Professor Iraq Raza Zaidi was on his hajj pilgrimage to mecca (Saudi Arabia) with his wife, while the news was announced, his entire town Saithal (Uttar Pradesh) celebrated the news and his elder brother Shaheen Raza Zaidi was interviewed by many local news channels and the news was covered in almost all the regional newspapers of the area.
