Israel will not exist in 25 years is a remark by Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, in a speech about Israel after agreement on the nuclear program of Iran.[1] For the first time, the remark was published in Khamenei's official website and his Twitter.[2][3] This sentence was introduced as the best and most important sentence made by Iranian people in 2015.[4]
Background[edit]
After an agreement was reached in 2015 between the Islamic Republic of Iran and P5+1, the Zionist regime declared it had no more concern about Iran and Israel would be a safe country for the next 25 years.[5] Ali Khamenei said in response, "I am telling you, first, you will not be around in 25 years' time, and God willing, there will be no Zionist regime in 25 years. Second, during this period, the spirit of fighting, heroism and jihad will keep you worried every moment."[6][7]
Israel's official reaction[edit]
Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, said, "Khamenei doesn't even leave any room for the supporters of the agreement to fantasize in."[6] Also, he stated, "This will not happen. Israel is a strong country and it will become even stronger."[8][9]
