Ivana Milojević
Ivana Milojević (pronounced [ǐʋana mîːlojeʋitɕ]) is an Australian futurist[1] with a transdisciplinary professional background in sociology, education, gender, peace and futures studies.[2] She is the Director of Metafuture, a global think-tank and Metafuture School, an online platform for futures courses.[3]
Biography[edit]
Born in 1967 in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia, she is of mixed (Serbian, Slovene and Russian) ethnic origin. Her mother is the adoptive daughter of the Montenegrin and Yugoslav philosopher and politician Veljko Vlahović and the granddaughter of political activists Mirko Weinberger and Zinka Martelanc.[4] She migrated to Australia in 1994 during the Yugoslav Wars; these events had a profound influence in her life and work.[5]
Affiliations and scholarship[edit]
Milojević has held adjunct and visiting professorships at several universities in Australia (University of the Sunshine Coast), Serbia (University of Novi Sad) and Taiwan (Tamkang University) and was the Head of the Brunei Futures Initiative at the Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies, Brunei Darussalam.[6][7][8] She joined the World Futures Studies Federation in 1993 and was an Executive Board member from 2004-2008.[9] Milojević was a member of the Multicultural Women’s Advisory Board, Department of the Premier and Cabinet, Queensland, Research Associate of the Australian Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, and Editorial Board Member of Žurnal za sociologiju (Journal of Sociology).[10][11] She is an editorial board member of the Journal of Futures Studies.[12] She was awarded a doctorate in Education from the University of Queensland; her PhD thesis Educational Futures: Dominant and Contesting Visions was subsequently published by Routledge.[13]
