Early Life and Career
Deepa Jaykumar is the niece of Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Ms. J. Jayalalitha (Amma), and was born in Chennai on 12 November 1974. She obtained her "Masters degree in International Journalism" from Cardiff University, Wales. She was well known to all of the Tamil Nadu people in 2016. She was in the news after she was not allowed to meet Ms. Jayalalitha when she was admitted to the Apollo Hospital in 2016. She was married to Madhavan in 2012 and she has a son and daughter.
Public Incidents
She was in the news for a series of attempts she made to see Jayalalitha in the Apollo Hospital. Incidentally, she was the only blood relative who went to the hospital. However, it was quite unfortunate that she was not allowed to even enter the hospital gate. Even at the Marina Beach, where Jayalalitha was buried, Deepa was present and was later allowed to give her last respects.
