JV- The Extraordinary Adventures of Jules Verne is an Italian fictional animation series.
Format[edit]
The series purports to recount the highly fictionalized adventures of the boyhood of French science fiction writer Jules Verne, who, at age 16, chooses to live his dream of exploring faraway lands by becoming a travel writer rather than studying maritime law at the university of the Sorbonne in Paris according to the wishes of his stuffy and conventional father, When by chance Jules rescues the scientific instruments of Professor Artemis from a burglary attempt, he is invited join the professor's geographical expedition. Besides Artemis, the party includes Amélie, the geographer's spunky and headstrong teenage daughter; Esther, a governess; two pets; and the anxious and penny-pinching Monsieur D'Ennui [i.e., boredom], publisher of a travel magazine.
Production[edit]
The series was produced by the Italian public TV network RAI, which started airing it in 2013.
It was also exported (to which end an original English version was made) and/or adapted, notably in Dutch dubbed version, aired by the Flemish public youth channel Ketnet from 2014.
