Jade Marlin (born 1986) is an American contemporary fashion designer[1] Marlin is the CEO-founder of the brand Jade Marlin Collection and the organization leader for the Jade Love Kids Foundation.[2][3]
Early life[edit]
Jade Marlin was born January 24, 1986 in Los Angeles, California from Janice Comeaux, later raised in Riverside California.[2] He played in independent minor league baseball teams, throughout school. For his adult education, Marlin enrolled in courses to become an architect. After obtaining a degree in architecture, he moved to fashion design. Marlin continued his education at Citrus College and ITT Technical Institute.[1]
Career[edit]
In 2003, with the help of his mother, Marlin developed his collection and sold shirts at local merchant gatherings.[1] In 2007, He named this early line as Jade Man. In 2011, Jade Man was discovered by manufacturer Kevin M., who discovered Marlin at the Las Vegas Magic (trade show).[4] In 2012, Marlin partnered with another manufacturer to launch a hat line, and then introduced a polo line in the following year. Having created several collection pieces, he began renting studio space and started hosting his own collection displays.[2] His line was rebranded as the Jade Marlin Collection[5] Currently based in Beverly Hills, Marlin's lines now include the Jade Marlin Collection, Lady Jade Collection, & Lady Jade Handbags. The Lady Jade Collection is operated by his mother Janice Comeaux.[2]
Marlin started the non-profit organization Jade Love Kids Foundation, to teach children in urban communities life skills. "I want to reach out to kids in urban cities and give them the incentive to be successful in a bad environment." [2]
