Jason Daniel Rosen (born September 6, 1978) is an American musician and songwriter. He is best known as a founding member of the pop rock band Honor Society, before departing in 2012 to formed the Los Angeles-based indie pop duo Smoke Season with Gabrielle Wortman, and later collaborated with Sarah RosenKrantz on the side project Hot Tooth.

Early life

Rosen was born and raised in Rockland County, New York, where he began collaborating on music with his future bandmate Michael Bruno during his school years. He later studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston before attending New York University.[1]

Career

Honor Society

Rosen, Bruno, and Andrew Lee originally formed Honor Society in New York. In early 2007, drummer Alexander Noyes, formerly of the Jonas Brothers, joined the group. The band was discovered by the Jonas Brothers and gained recognition as one of their supporting acts, later signing with Hollywood Records.[2] Over the course of their career, the band released three extended plays and two studio albums before he departure in 2012.[3]

Smoke Season

After leaving Honor Society, Rosen co-founded the indie pop duo Smoke Season in Los Angeles in 2013 with Gabrielle Wortman. The group blended electronic, Americana, soul, and indie rock influences, releasing several EPs including Signals (2013), Hot Coals Cold Souls (2014), and Ouroboros (2016).[4]

Hot Tooth

Rosen later collaborated with Sarah RosenKrantz on the side project Hot Tooth. The duo released singles including "All That Money" (2025) and "Can't You See" (2025).[5]

Other projects

In 2020, Rosen has expanded into television and film sync licensing, with his work featured in programs such as TMZ, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Extra, National Geographic, and 90 Day Fiancé. He continues to write, produce, and collaborate on various projects, while performing regularly with artists in Los Angeles.[6]
