Jason Sanjay Vijay (born 26 August 2000) is a British Indian amateur film director and former child actor. He is the son of Tamil film actor Vijay. He studies filmmaking at Ryerson University.
Early life and career[edit]
Jason Sanjay was born on 26 August 2000 in London, England, United Kingdom to his parents Vijay and Sangeetha, who were in the country during a visit. He is of Indian and Sri Lankan ancestry, the latter from his mother. He was taken back to his parents residence in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, where he was raised and completed his elementary and secondary education at the American International School Chennai (AISC). At the age of 9, he made his first and only feature film appearance in Vettaikkaaran (2009), in which he danced to the song "Naan Adicha Thaangamatta" alongside his father.
As of 2018, Jason attends Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to pursue an undergraduate degree in filmmaking.[1] Jason directed and appeared in two short films in 2019, Junction and Siri, which were shot in both Toronto and in Chennai and released on his personal YouTube account, crediting himself as J. S. J. He was later reported to co-star in his debut as lead actor with Dhruv Vikram in a film directed by S. Shankar. It was later denied by a spokesperson for the director who stated that casting has not been finalized for the film yet.[2]
In the year 2018, he made his first short film named “A Junction”. In that film, Jason Sanjay acted and also did the direction and the film crossed above 2M views on YouTube. Again in 2019, he made a short film named “Siri” and it also got many views on Instagram. His father always been a supportive person to his son and motivating him to become a great director.
Personal life[edit]
He is a fan of the Chennai Super Kings after attending a number of cricket matches as a child with his father Vijay, who was previously the team's brand ambassador. While in university, he became a fan of the Toronto Raptors and supported their win in the 2019 NBA Finals.[3]
Jason Sanjay Vijay Son currently living in Neelankarai, Chennai. He is living in a grand luxurious house with his family. His father Joseph Vijay is a top-rated star in Kollywood. Vijay Won many imported cars as well. His net worth will be above 500 cr.
