Javier de la Fuente (born 1973, Córdoba, Argentina) is a professor, industrial designer, and founder of Factor IDD,[1] a multidisciplinary design consultancy firm based in California (USA) and Buenos Aires (Argentina).
Career[edit]
Javier de la Fuente is currently an assistant professor of of industrial technology and packaging at California Polytechnic State University where he teaches classes on design thinking, rapid visualization, prototyping, materials, computer-aided design, aesthetics and the creative process. He is active in the field of inclusive design and user-centered design for packaging design. He has more than 30 publications including books chapters,[2][3][4] peer-reviewed articles,[5][6][7][8] refereed conferences, and trade-press articles.[9][10][11][12][13][14] He has co-authored the “Packaging Design and Development”[15] and the “Medical Device Packaging”[16] chapters in the last edition of the Wiley Encyclopedia of Packaging Technology . One of his papers[17] won the prestigious Best Paper Award at the Cambridge Workshop on Universal Access and Assistive Technology organized by the Engineering Department at University of Cambridge.[18] de la Fuente serves in the review board of Packaging Technology and Science, the Journal of Applied Packaging Research, and the Journal of International & Interdisciplinary Business Research.
