Jeremy Jahns (born May 8, 1981)[1][4] is an American film critic and YouTuber.[5][6] As of June 2020[update], Jahns has over 1.72 million subscribers and over 674 million views on YouTube.[7] He is currently a Tomatometer-approved critic on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.[8]
Early life[edit]
Jahns was born and raised up in Seattle, Washington. After high school, he took numerous retail jobs. During his time as a projectionist at a local theater, he got early access to numerous films. Having grown up admiring films and video games, he took his interest into critiquing early on as a hobby.[9][10]

Jahns first began releasing trailer videos and eventually movie reviews in 2008. He made a second channel to focus more than just films in 2009.[11] When he began publishing video reviews, there was only a small group of other video bloggers reviewing films on YouTube. He has also expanded into reviewing television shows and video games.[12][13] His reviews are generally spoiler-free; however, he will occasionally release additional spoiler reviews for movies he feels would benefit from further, in-depth explanation.
Jahns has become among the most popular film critics on the website, having a following of over 1.73 million subscribers as of July 2020. Stewart Fletcher of Moviepilot ranked Jahns’ YouTube channel as the number two channel that movie fans should subscribe to, writing that "Despite presenting himself as kind of a goof, he is really a smart and thoughtful critic who brings his A-Game to every review. Not to mention he's a huge fan of movies which makes him far more interesting than lots of other critics out there; though none on this list. If you like him, comment below, let me know!".[14]
Collaborations[edit]
In late 2015, Jahns began working with Screen Junkies to host a trivia game titled Movie Fights.[15] In 2016, he began working for Collider. Besides working for their daily Movie Talk series, he also co-created Awesometacular with Jeremy Jahns for go90.[16] Jahns left the company after working for them for a year.[17]
