He makes Chinese-language videos about Chinese food and American culture and uploads them to YouTube and Bilibili.[1][2] After the outbreak of the COVID-19, he took to American streets to report on the current state of the pandemic through videos, which in turn attracted more Chinese viewers to follow his channels. He then went on to make videos on American politics, the US electoral system and racial issues, and was interviewed on CCTV news about the pandemic and the death of George Floyd.[3][4] Due to his pro-China position, Kowal has been accused of being a political propagandist working for the Chinese Communist Party.
