John Robert Drake (born October 31, 2000)[citation needed] is an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he ran in the 2021 California gubernatorial recall election, receiving 0.9% of the replacement candidate vote. Though Drake opposed the recall of Gavin Newsom, he presented himself as a progressive alternative in the event of a recall.[1] He was the youngest candidate to run for Governor in the history of the state of California at age 20.[citation needed]
Drake is running for California Assembly district 30. AD30 consists of San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Cruz Counties.
