Joseph & Lindsey (also known as J&L or The Life of Joseph & Lindsey) is an American adult animated web and television series created by Ernie Brown, Patrick Smith and Jay Randolf for YouTube, created using Plotagon.[1] The series premiered on March 22, 2020. The show is set in the fictional town of Plotagon City. The program focuses around the titular characters, Joseph and Lindsey, who are a well-known couple in their community.[2]

Joseph & Lindsey is the first and the longest-running Plotagon series to be featured on a few websites.[3] The show has 48 seasons and 524 episodes. On rare circumstances, the show's pilot is one of the special episodes, and in this case, it will be the lost episode of J&L Specials, which debuted on March 23, 2021, but will still not be mentioned on occasions.[4] Some sources, for example, include the pilot as one of the special episodes, increasing the total number of J&L Specials episodes to eight. This does not apply to some other sources, which list it as Season 1's first episode. On IMDb, the pilot episode is categorized as 'Season 1, Episode 0'. On YouTube, the pilot is not considered as a special episode; rather, it is included as part of Season 1 as it is on IMDb.[5] On November 2022, it was revealed that Joseph & Lindsey could be ending after season 48. As of February 2024, this show is still continuing. [6] The production of daily episodes stopped in January 2024, according to Jay Randolf.

The story revolves around Joseph and Lindsey, a rich, well-known, and proud couple from their community, who hope to get married in the future. Beryl, Joseph's neurotic ex-girlfriend who is having difficulty finding a significant other, is slightly against the pair and seeks to tear them apart, but fails miserably. Joseph is an accomplished cook, as well as a former football and basketball player, comedian, artist, and attorney. Lindsey began her career as a fashion designer at an early age. Joseph is a multi-talented attorney, author, comedian, former football and basketball player, writer, television actor, and artist, all of which contribute to his riches, fame, and success. Joseph's artistic portfolio included painting, drawing, and cartooning.[7] Lindsey became a fashion designer at a young age. Most women, including Beryl, have an unrequited crush on Joseph, despite the fact that he is dating Lindsey.[8]

As a way of making up for her acts that caused Joseph and Beryl's romance to end prematurely and lead to everyone disliking her, Beryl has tried to separate Joseph and Lindsey once more. Plans to separate Joseph and Lindsey often land her in prison. Joseph and Lindsey are portrayed to be more mature and accomplished than she is, with Joseph labeling her psychotic conduct 'annoying'. Beryl, on the other hand, is jealous of her ex-boyfriend Joseph and her enemy Lindsey since they've had bigger accomplishments than she has. Beryl was incarcerated in the Plot County Jail for ten months, where Joseph's closest friend, officer Tariq Pierce, works, for several offences, but her friend, who's unknown at the time, was able to pay for her bail and has bailed her out.

Joseph's siblings, T.Q., Claude, and two identical twins Gabrielle and Abigail, who are sometimes referred to as Gabby and Abby, and the rest of the gang, reside with Joseph and Lindsey. Along the way, Joseph and Lindsey meet a variety of individuals, some good and some terrible. Donny, a talking skeleton, is the first character they encounter. Jeremy, a young dinosaur, is the second character they encounter.[9]

Joseph and Lindsey believe their town is nice, but they also think it's crazy since there are colorful dinosaurs, skeletons (not featured in the series), aliens, and chickens. Joseph and Lindsey are members of "Joseph's Crew," which includes all of the major characters as well as some of the recurrent characters that dwell in Joseph's big house.

Since the "Drama Queen: Karen" episode of the program, Joseph and the crew have faced Karens, women who are portraying various immature and inappropriate habits. Majority individuals are outraged when they discover that most are racist.

Joseph & Lindsey is a television show based on Plotagon.[11] On August 12, 2019, creators Ernie Brown and Jay Randolf published a 2-minute teaser for the program, however it did not make it to the internet. Brown announced on October 5 of the same year that the teaser had been inadvertently removed.[12] On December 29, 2019, Randolf and Brown announced the series on the show's official website. According to Patrick Smith, one of the show's co-creators, Joseph & Lindsey is both fiction and nonfiction, with the fiction portion being Plotagon City, the RAIVirus, and the characters, and the nonfiction part being COVID-19. The teaser was successfully recovered on January 19, 2020 and the teaser was released on February 12, 2020.[13] Instead, the teaser is Valentine's Day themed despite the show's release in March in the same year. The teaser was set to release on February 13, 2020, but due to a delay, it still didn't make it to the internet until September 12, 2021, when it was posted on Vimeo.[14] On October 16, 2021, the teaser was released to YouTube. [15]The rating for the show is TV-MA, and almost every episode is shown to be four minutes long, making the show's running time four minutes.[16]

The episodes of the Joseph & Lindsey series have subtitles including the pilot episode. Except for the episodes 'Mom and Dad are Millionaires' and 'Ghosts in Your Room,' there aren't any. Instead, YouTube subtitles are given.[17]

Big Caillou The Detective, a three-episode reality YouTube series written by Ernie Brown, one of the creators of Joseph & Lindsey, was published on June 6, 2017 by Jay Randolf. [18] Brown was supposed to introduce Joseph & Lindsey a month later, but due to the various delays and problems with the show's conception, Brown waited two years to do so.

Brown and Randolf also created a spin-off series called The Andersons, a show similar to Joseph & Lindsey that premiered on December 18, 2019. On March 8, 2020, Ernie Brown and Jay Randolf were both working on Plotagon Shorts, a two-episode animated series. On March 18, 2020, a trailer for Joseph & Lindsey was set to be published. On March 19, the trailer was removed due to an unknown issue. The trailer was not uploaded to YouTube before its deletion.
