Jules Théobald (17 April 1909 – 5 October 2021) was a French supercentenarian.[1]
Biography[edit]
Théobald spent his career as a fisherman in Martinique. He became the oldest man in France on 13 October 2019 following the death of Roger Auvin .[2] On 4 March 2021, he became the oldest Frenchman to have ever lived, breaking the previous record held by Maurice Floquet. On 17 April 2021, he became the first Frenchman to reach the age of 112.[3] At that time, he was the second oldest man in Europe and in the world.
Jules Théobald died in Fort-de-France on 5 October 2021 at the age of 112 years and 171 days.[4]
