PT Railink (doing business as KAI Bandara) is an Indonesian railway operator specializing in airport rail link services. Established on 28 September 2006, it is a joint-venture subsidiary of two state-owned enterprises, the railway company Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) and the airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II)[1] with 60% to 40% stakes composition respectively. KAI Bandara currently operating Kualanamu Airport Rail Link between Medan and Deli Serdang Regency (both in North Sumatra) and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Rail Link between Jakarta and Tangerang, Banten.

KAI Bandara serrvices is often promoted as Airport Railink Services (ARS).

Kualanamu ARS[edit]

Kualanamu Airport Rail Link was started operation in 2013 with a route from Medan Station (branded as "City Railink Station") to Kualanamu International Airport (branded as Airport Railink Station). The service initially used two series of electro-diesel multiple unit borrowed from the Ministry of Transportation which were initially operated on Java island as Kaligangsa train, which was later replaced by four new series made by Woojin Industries of South Korea.[2][3][4] The stock capacity is 172 passengers per train, and can carry 3000-4000 passengers per day or 1.3 million passengers per year.[5]

Soekarno-Hatta ARS[edit]

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Rail Link was started operation in 2017 with a route from Manggarai Station to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and atops at 5 stations. Its rolling stock is made completely knocked-down by Bombardier Transportation and assembled by INKA in Madiun, East Java.

Others[edit]

In addition to Medan and Jakarta, KAI Bandara will also operate airport train for Kertajati International Airport in Majalengka Regency, West Java[6]. The company had interest to operate airport train for Yogyakarta International Airport in Kulon Progo Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta;[7] as of 2020 the airport train Yogyakarta International Airport Rail Link is operated directly by KAI.
