Lathi's royal poet Kalpi.

Kalpi Tirtha or Kalpi Tirtha museum[1] is a museum of objects related to the life of Kalpi, in the memory of Gujarati poet's poet Kalpi. It is located at Lathi on the birthplace of Kalpi in Amreli district of Gujarat.  There is a huge collection of articles written by the artists themselves, letters, the rare items they used, and the history of the monarchy. The memorials were also associated with the Kalpi Tirtha, where the Kalpati lived, the palace, which was sitting on the banks of the lake. This place is a center of attraction for Gujarat's literature makers.[2]

History and introduction[edit]

Kalpi Tirtha

The history of this place is associated with the period from the birth of Kalpi to the death. Before the establishment of Gujarat, there was a Lathi kingdom. After the merger of the states, the maintenance of the royal palaces, the library and other memorandum of art was not adequate. There was nothing to be done for that, despite the many oops, discussions, suggestions. During 2003-2005, the then collector and literature officer of Amreli district, Pravinbhai K. Project for the memorial of Kalpana was prepared by Gadhvi (IAS) initiative. The poet and practitioner of Amreli, Harshadbhai Chandana is also considered to be the foundation stone.

To fulfill this project, businessman Manjibhai R. 'Kalpy Kalpi Tirth Trust' was formed with the help of Dholakia and other leaders Ravjibhai Pangar, Anantra Bhayani, Dhirubhai Patel, the successor of Kalpak Thakor Kirtikumar Singh (presently Rajkot) and Mahendrasinghji Gohil (presently Amreli) etc. Ghanshyamsingh Rana as its prime. He collected all the money and collected the Kalpi Tirtha museum to maintain the heritage of literature, art and culture, with a memorial of Kalpi.

The Kalpi Tirtha museum is displayed in the ground floor by the poet, the historical lathi and the present staff. There is a small museum between Kalpi's artworks, photos, letters in handwriting, poetry, manuscripts, artistic books, audio cassettes, CDs. All the memorabilia received as well as the artwork has been introduced. A small auditorium is also built on the upper floors of Kalpitirth Bhawan. Apart from Wednesdays, this museum gives free entry to the mornings in the evening. Videography, photography is permitted. The museum was inaugurated in 2005.[3]
