Kamikaze Douga
Kamikaze Douga (Japanese: 神風動画, Hepburn: Kamikaze Dōga) is a Japanese animation studio based in Shibuya, Tokyo, founded by animator and director Junpei Mizusaki on 23 May 2003.[1][2] The studio has contributed animation to numerous high-profile projects across multiple formats, including opening sequences for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, full production on Pop Team Epic, the feature film Batman Ninja, and the Star Wars: Visions anthology short "The Duel".[1][3][4] The studio's short film "The Duel" received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program in 2022.[4][5]
History
Kamikaze Douga was established on 23 May 2003 by Junpei Mizusaki, who previously worked at Studio 4°C.[2][6] Mizusaki had been working on freelance animation projects since 1998 before formally incorporating the studio.[6] The studio initially specialized in CG-driven opening sequences for television anime. Over time, it expanded into full animation production for television series, original net animations (ONAs), and feature films. The studio's headquarters are located in the Jingumae area of Shibuya, Tokyo.[citation needed]
