Muroosystems Corporation (Japanese: 株式会社ムロオシステムズ) is a Japanese information technology company headquartered in Nihonbashi, Chūō, Tokyo. Established in 2006, the company operates across digital transformation (DX), decentralized computing infrastructure (DCC), and renewable energy sectors.[2][3][4][5]

In October 2024, Muroosystems acquired the German nuclear engineering company NUKEM Technologies GmbH(branded as NUKEM), expanding its business into the nuclear sector, including decommissioning and radioactive waste management.[6][7][8]

History

Muroosystems was founded in June 2006 in Kure, Hiroshima, as an internal IT venture of Muroo Co., Ltd., a major chilled logistics company.[9]It began by providing web conferencing solutions and later expanded into logistics IT systems.

The company relocated its headquarters to Tokyo and expanded its overseas operations to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. In addition to logistics and retail, it also offered IT solutions for the education sector.[10][11][12][13]

In recent years, Muroosystems entered the renewable energy market and launched decentralized computing center (DCC) projects abroad.[14]

In September 2023, the company’s blockchain-based international trade platform was selected for Japan’s Trade and Investment Promotion Subsidy Program by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, recognizing its contribution to digitalizing cross-border commerce.[15][16]

In September 2024, Muroosystems signed an investment agreement with the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic for the Chon-Kemin Hydropower Project. The signing ceremony was attended by Japan’s minister of economy, trade and industry, Ken Saito.[17][18][19]

In October 2024, Muroosystems acquired NUKEM Technologies GmbH(branded as NUKEM), a German company specializing in nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management. The acquisition marked Muroosystems’ entry into the nuclear sector and expanded its operations into energy-related infrastructure.[6][7][8]
