Kamp Koral is an upcoming American animated television series that will air on Nickelodeon. A prequel to SpongeBob SquarePants, the series focuses on a ten-year-old SpongeBob attending a summer sleepaway camp. It serves as a tie-in to the animated film The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge.[1]
The series was confirmed to have begun production in June 2019.[2][3]
Premise[edit]
The series will follow 10-year-old SpongeBob and his friends at the titular camp located in the Kelp Forest, where they spend the summer catching jellyfish, building campfires, and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck.[1]

Production[edit]
Nickelodeon animation head Ramsey Naito said of the series, "SpongeBob has an incredible universe to expand upon and the greenlight for Kamp Koral is a testament to the strength and longevity of these characters known and loved by generations of fans around the world." Like SpongeBob SquarePants, the series will be executive produced by Vincent Waller and Marc Ceccarelli. Kamp Koral will feature computer animation as opposed to SpongeBob SquarePants, which features digital ink and paint animation.[1]
