Karim Metwaly, is an Arab-American social commentater and YouTuber from New York City. As of October 2017, he has over 2.1 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.[1] Metwaly has had four channels on YouTube xStryfx, Karim Jovian, Jovian Games and WeAreGamersNow. He also has a podcast channel along with Coffee.[2]
Early life[edit]
Karim Metwaly was born in Manhattan, New York City to Arab parents from Egypt. He began his career as an actor at an early age. He has acted in various plays and musicals, including Anything Goes and Brigadoon.
Career[edit]
He joined YouTube and started creating videos on his channel named "AreWeFamousNow". He has also taken part on the channel "3MH" with Adam Saleh and Sheikh Akbar. In early 2015, 3MH split up.[3]
He has over two million subscribers on his YouTube channel. He has collaborated with many YouTubers, including Ryan Higa and Adam Saleh.
He creates parodies and videos about Muslims, and many of his videos became popular. His video "10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman in Hijab", a parody of 10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman, has over 12 million views.[4] His other videos, including "Blind Muslim Trust Social Experiment" and "Would You Date A Muslim", have received worldwide coverage.[5][6] Jovian has also created parodies of various songs including PSY's "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman" with Sheikh Akbar.

He is married to Vlada, a Russian-American Christian.
