Kate Elizabeth Hallam
Kate Elizabeth Hallam (born on November 17, 1983) is an International Model, Actress and Humanitarian from Buxton in Derbyshire, England.[1]
Early life and family
She won the "Bonniest Baby" Competition when she was 3 years old. In 1997 her brother Chris was diagnosed with Leukemia and needed a bone marrow transplant. Kate was a perfect match for her brother. The transplant took place when she was 14 years old. For this, she was awarded a bravery award from The House Of Commons. In her teens, she was diagnosed with Meningitis (Bacterial Form) and nearly died. She is currently married to singer Lucky Ali. She is the Daughter-In-Law to Bollywood Superstar Mehmood Ali. She has one son, Dani Maqsood Ali, from this marriage.
Career
She was chosen to participate in the Miss England and Miss Great Britain contests. She went on to win Miss Great Britain Photogenic and Miss England Intercontinental. She was also chosen to represent her country in International Pageants.[2]
She was chosen to be the Cover girl for Take A Break Magazine, by the editor John Dale. (He happened to see her in the audience of Miss England) She appeared on the Take A Break Magazine cover a record 16 times.
In 2010 Kate appeared with Alex Reid in the British Film "Killer Bitch."[3]
She was also chosen to be an Ambassador for Advance Hair Studios amongst other celebrities like cricket player Shayne Warne.[4]
On February 8, 2014, Kate spoke at the TEDx SIBMBangalore event "The Road Less Traveled"[5]
On August 27, 2014, it was announced that Kate would play Eva Schloss in the Stage Play "And Then They Came For Me."[6]
Humanitarian work
Kate is the current Ambassador for "The Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust."[7]
On June 26, 2014, Kate became an Ambassador for "Lucy Air Ambulance for Children."[8]
