Kay Yin

Kay Yin (born June 22, 1998) is an Chinese Web and iOS developer, as well as a technology writer, majoring in Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology.[1] He is known for co-founding Re•Action Lab[2] and VibeFind.[3]

Education[edit]

Kay is pursuing B.S. in Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology.[4] He has previously attended Shanghai United International School.[5]

Projects[edit]

In 2016, Kay has co-founded Re•Action Lab, a video platform that allows high school students to share and comment on short films, event recordings and montages[2] and reported on Apple's effort in bringing Advanced Computing Vision to its updated Photos app. In 2015, Kay conducted researches at Shanghai United International School about Cocoa Touch API compatibility between each iOS and macOS release and created a proof-of-concept runtime memory patch to port several built-in iOS 6 apps to iOS 9.[6] In 2014 and 2015 and with Alex Schreiberstein, Kay has co-created LucidaGrandeYosemite and LucidaGrandeElCapitan, two Mac utilities that each allows Mac users running OS X Yosemite and OS X El Capitan revert to using Lucida Grande as the default system typeface.[7] In 2014, Kay co-produced a short film, The Quest, with director Carek Bao[8] and co-founded VibeFind. In 2012, Kay published a review of OS X Mountain Lion on MacWorld Asia.[9]
