Keith Porteous (born 7 July 2002) is a NZ European songwriter, musician and filmmaker. He is most known for albums Falling Up[1], Cards[2] , Glimpses and independent short film Buried In Winter, starring Emily Gateley.[3]

Career[edit]

Keith received a 2nd place in the solo duo category[4] for Smokefreerockquest Auckland, June 2018[5]. In November of that year he released 13 demos as a project called In The Dark.[6] In 2019 he released an EP titled Park Bench[7] on Soundcloud that seemed to find its audience fairly quickly and directed an original musical New York Or Here[8][9]. The musical featured original music by him and Jeff Pianki. On January 22, 2020, the short film Buried In Winter[10][11] was released on youtube. In that same year in June, album Falling Up[12] was released. Following the release of that album, Keith released a single titled Zebra in September that year. Hints were posted on his Instagram[13] alluding to new music throughout 2021, however, things were still vague until August when the album Cards was announced. Two songs "Are You Into Me?" and "Lemon Curd" were released leading up to the album during August. Cards is now released.

Live Performances[edit]

Live performances[14][15] have been at venues such as Le Voyeur[16] in Olympia, Washington, The Surf Club at Muriwai. A show[17] as a part of a summer series[18] in 2019 with The Bridge Music Project[19] was aired on local television in the Olympia area and covered in The Olympian[20]. Another show at Oly On Ice [21] with The Bridge in 2020 also was recorded. During the summer of 2021, Keith played at Olympia's festival LoveOly Summerfest in promotion of the release of Cards[22]. During the months of November, 2021 through January, 2022, Keith played many locations in Olympia, Washington including the Capitol Theater[23] and The Washington Center for the Performing Arts.[24]
