Kemi Otegbade is an Events Consultant[1] of almost a decade and half, her company Heartlink Ventures Ltd has branched out into various divisions over the years such as H.R, Public & Media Relations, publishing of 4 editions of Business Directories called H-link Business Directories and more. She is renowned for conceptualizing projects that advances the cause of Nigeria globally.
Early life[edit]
Kemi was born in Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria on the 4th of July 1966. A Business Administration graduate from Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, Nigeria, started her career after the mandatory National Youth Service Corps as a young banker with the then New World Merchant Bank in 1990. She worked in various departments from Legal to Admin, Cashier in Banking Operations, Treasury and Internal Audit. She left after about a decade to set up Heartlink Ventures Ltd[2] which had already been incorporated a few years before disengagement with the bank.
Career[edit]
She started to make her mark as an entrepreneur shortly after exiting the banking industry by setting up Recruitment and Publishing units. Her organization has been providing H.R services to blue chips companies and more since year 2000 to date. She published 4 different editions of H-link business directories which was a useful business tool to marketers before the full bloom of the internet.
She made her foray into events when she organized a Valentine show at Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park, Lekki, Lagos. A few months after, she organized Miss Gateway Games beauty pageant, a lead up event to the 15th National Sports Festival from Ogun State Government, this shot her to limelight and since then she has been part of organizing Sports entertainment villages anytime there is a Sports Festival. Some of which are Nigeria Entertainment Village, World Cup 2010[3], Johannesburg, South Africa, Miss Nisev London Olympics 2012, Barking, United Kingdom, Nigeria Entertainment Village, Eko 2012, Surulere, Lagos etc.

She is the first female from Nigeria to hold an independent event in United Nations Headquarters, Corporate Nigeria Stakeholders Forum[4] sponsored by Delta State[5] Government in partnership with Embassy of the Republic of Nigeria, Washington DC, Institute of Directors, Nigeria and Manufacturers Association of Nigeria in July 2013.[6]
She also coordinated African Women Summit in United Nations Headquarters, a world forum on the economic empowerment of the African Woman supported by office of the wife of the Vice President of Nigeria and Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Washington DC in July 2014[7].
