Khlaif Mustafa Gharaibeh (Arabic: خليف مصطفى غرايبه) is a Jordanian geographer and Professor of Urban Geography at Balqa Applied University. he wrote and published several papers, books, and articles [1][2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] ,he is from Ajloun .
Gharaibeh received the International Prize for Dialogue of Civilizations in January 2020 [12] , he was one of the Winners of Third Qatar Global Award for Dialogue Among Civilizations for his research on the role of civilized communication in promoting coexistence.
Early life and education[edit]
Dr. Khlaif Mustafa Gharaibeh was born on the nineteenth of February 1948 in the town of Al Hashimiyya (Fara) located in the governorate of Ajloun in Jordan. Dr. Khlaif Mustafa Gharaibeh is married, and he has five sons and four daughters. He lives in Jordan in the city of Irbid, he got a bachelor's degree in geography from the University of Jordan in 1972, he got a Higher Diploma degree in Education from the University of Yarmouk in 1979 ,in the same he got a Diploma in Higher English (Distance Learning) from Trans world Tutorial college- JERSEY , and from University of Jordan he got a master's degree in historical geography, then he got a doctorate in Urban geography and Population in 1995 from Baghdad University , after his graduation he taught in public education schools and colleges in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Jordan.
Work and Experience[edit]
Dr. Khalif is a Full Professor at Al-Balqa Applied University, in addition to his work in the Department of Urban Planning and Design at the College of Architecture at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, he taught at Northern Borders University - Saudi Arabia.
He held several administrative positions at Al-Balqa Applied University / Ajloun University College,in which he worked as Head of the Admission & Registration Department and Vice Dean . He is also a member of many scientific organizations and societies, and a member of the Editorial Board and the advisory board for many International scientific peer-reviewed journals.
Awards and Prizes[edit]
Dr. Khalif received the second Arab Award for scientific research in 15/3/2016 in The fifth annual conference of social sciences[13][14][15], which was held in Doha and organized by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies.
He also won the Qatar International Prize for Dialogue of Civilizations in January 2020[16] [17][18] He is the president of the Ajloun Association for Research and Studies[19] and the editor-in-chief of the Jordan Encyclopedia / Ajloun Governorate [20], has more than 35 published scientific papers, and dozens of articles and papers in the areas of spatial development, quality of life in Arab countries, sustainable development, historical and cultural geography of Arab world: Development, convergence, integration, eco-tourism, desert tourism, democracy issues in the Arab world, migration of Arab competencies, and memory of place

Desert Tourism: Desert Development in the Arab World[22] [23]: Deserts represent 88-90 percent of the body of the Arab world, which has begun to decertify, which makes it important for the Arab countries to think irrevocably in the reconstruction of the desert full of bounties that constitute basic components of Arab life.
Tourist Geography [24] It shows that tourism in its modern sense flourished in the second half of the twentieth century. Tourism is a major hub of the country's economy.
Environmental tourism[25] dealt with tourism from an economic perspective, which is: a productive sector that plays an important role in increasing the national income, and tourism from a social and cultural perspective is: a civilized message and a bridge for communication between cultures and human knowledge of nations and peoples, and tourism from a scientific perspective is: the art of providing service.

Geographical Travels in the Arab Islamic Heritage in the Fourth and Fifth Centuries of Hegira[28] These travelers have contributed to the enrichment of geographical thought through their diverse scientific production, whether in the field of descriptive geography, writing dictionaries and geographical encyclopedias, or drawing maps and making atlases, or their invention and their use of many machines and devices that helped them in their transportation and travels (the astrolabe, for example). Many Arab and Muslim travelers have emerged in this field, such as: Al-Mas'udi, Ibn Fadlan, Al-Maqdisi, Ibn Hawqal, Nasir Khusraw and others. This study aims to highlight the role of these travelers in enriching the Arab-Islamic heritage with multiple geographical knowledge..
The methodology of Islamic thought in the Planning of Arab-Islamic City (Ibn Abi al-rabi Model)[29] this paper aims to identify the methodology of Islamic thought in planning of Arab-Islamic city of Ibn Abi al-rabi', as one of the leading scientists who put the foundation of this methodology. it came in the fourth chapter of his book about the conditions of cities’ locations , and the terms of planning the cities, sites.
Historical Geographical Aspects of the Spanish Civil War (1936 – 1939)[30] This research aims to study the causes and consequences of the Spanish Civil War and how Franco won the victory over the Madrid government, by seizing Spanish Marrakesh and the capitals of the Spanish provinces, and finally overthrowing the Madrid government itself. The researcher followed the historical-geographical method in his study.
Aspects of the historical geography of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan 1921 - 2011 [31] applied the historical-geographical method in this study of the constructing the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan during the period 1921 - 2011
The environmental constituents of eco-tourism in Jordan [32]: The objective is to discern the most significant environmental elements that constitute Jordan’s eco-tourism and how each of these elements shapes tourist attractions while managing ecological balance. To achieve this objective the researcher adopted an empirical and analytical approach by conducting field visits to identify the basics of the environment involved which was recorded in eighteen illustrations.
