Nerdin Abu Nabaa is a Jordanian writer and radio journalist. She was born on 30 June 1971 in Amman. She received her bachelor’s degree in Sharia from The University of Jordan in 1992. She is a member of the Jordanian Writers Society, and the International League of Islamic Literates, Jordan branch.[1] She was part of the judging committee for the third creative competition in 2004 for the Islamic Charitable Center Society.[2] Her story "The Secret of the Bike" won the appreciation award in 2011, in the return competition organized by the "Badeel" Foundation in Ramallah.[1]

Life and career[edit]

Nerdin Abu Nabaa was born on 30/June/1971 in Amman. She finished high school in Riyadh 1988 and received her bachelor’s degree in Sharia from the University of Jordan in 1992. Abu Nabaa worked as a teacher for the Jordanian ministry of education in the years 1996 to 2006.[1] Then, she moved to work in radio, presenting children’s programs including “Stories and Lessons”. She also worked on a variety of radio programs for “Hayat F.M.” such as “Girl Talk” in 2006 and “Husbands and Wives” in 2006.[3]

Abu Nabaa participated in many forums and cultural events in Jordan and Palestine as well as other Arabic countries. She was also published in several local and regional magazines on children, women and psychology.[3] She is a member of both the Jordanian Writers Society, and the International League of Islamic Literates, Jordan branch.[1]

Abu Nabaa was part of the judging committee for several coemptions including the third creative competition in 2004 for the Islamic Charitable Center Society, the "Family from the Child’s Perspective" competition for the Afaf Charitable Society, and the Great Amman Municipality Competition for Mother's Day 2008. In addition, she participated in many writing workshops including a children's writing workshop and a teachers’ workshop in Dubai.[3]
