Kiran Kaverappa (Kannada: ಕಿರಣ್ ಕಾವೇರಪ್ಪ) is an Indian Kannada Poet, Lyricist, and Screenwriter who works in Kannada cinema. He made his debut in the Hemanth Rao's 2016 film Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu. He composed some of the lyrics for the 2016 film Kirik Party.[1]
Early life[edit]
Kiran Kaverappa was born on 8 May 1989 in Coorg, Karnataka. His father Ganesh served in forest department and mother Anitha worked as school teacher in Coorg. Kiran did his schooling from St. Michaels Institution, Madikeri and graduated with Bachelor of Dental Surgery from JSS Dental College & Hospital, Mysore and Master degree from V.S. Dental College & Hospital (KIMS), Bangalore from Rajiv Gandhi Health University.
Career[edit]
In 2010 started collaborating with various bands and started doing jingles and voice overs for Red FM 93.5 Mysore and Radiocity 91.1 FM Bangalore. In 2015, as lyricist along Ashic Arun and Chinmay Nadig penned a Karnataka Rajyotsava song called "Namma karunadu" composed by Ashic Arun in collaboration with renowned Indian Violinist Jyotsna Srikanth featured in BBC UK show of Ashanti Omkar. Kiran's first film was the Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu directed by Hemanth Rao. In 2016 he became part of the blockbuster Kannada movie 'Kirik Party' as a lyricist. He wrote the Neenire Saniha Neenire which is one of the hit song of the movie.[2]
He was one of many lyricists of Neene[3] a Kannada music contemporary dance video which went viral all over South India. Neene was appreciated and shared by SS Rajamouli and Goutham Vasudev Menon on social media platforms.[4]
