Kiss Trust (AKA KissTrust) is an online irrevocable trust creation service founded by Glen Armand, Lawrence Eisenberg and Edward “Ned” Armand.[1] In addition to providing "end to end" bundled online document assembly of trusts and trust administration,[2] Kiss Trust provides a legal and tax education center and articles on various aspects of trusts, childrens savings plans and related tax law.[3]

History[edit]

Kiss Trust began offering trust creation products to the public on May 5, 2005.[1] The Kiss Trust concept began when Glen Armand developed a trust based alternative savings solution for his new grandchildren that would allow him to establish rules on how and when the money in the trust could be accessed and used.[2]

Friends and family members began requesting that Armand create similar childrens savings trust for their use. Armand approached Eisenberg with the concept to create Kiss Trust as an affordable self-help online savings trust alternative. The launch of Kiss Trust helped to create the self-help online savings trust industry.[1]

Kiss Trust was awarded a U.S. Patent 8,321,318 B2 November, 2012 [4] on the Kiss Trust concept, technology and processes.

Kiss Trust became a division of Eastern Point Trust Company in June 2012.[1] Eastern Point Trust Company is a non-depository, multi-state trust company providing services across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. Eastern Point Trust Company’s brokerage subsidiaries are also regulated by FINRA and the SEC.

Services[edit]

Kiss Trust is the largest provider of irrevocable savings trust in the United States. Kiss Trust provides multiple self-help irrevocable trust document services bundled with "end to end" ongoing trust administration for a wide variety of trusts types. These include childrens savings trust, college savings, simple estate planning, divorce, child support, special needs trust, legacy trust, restricted ordered trusts and memorial trusts.[3]

Criticism[edit]

Kiss trust is currently involved in controversy in relation to its use of legal action threats allegedly aimed at suppressing negative internet comments about its products, specifically on the Mr. Money Mustache blog & forum.[5]
