Grant Michael James Oakes (born 5th November, 1989), better known by his stage name Krafty, is a British rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and music video director from Folkestone, Kent.
His first album, Not For Resale, was released in 2013 on his Monumental Records label and contains guest appearances from Dustin James Corbett, Gemma Louise, Lenny Jones and Janay as well as production from Sinima Beats. Krafty then went on to release his albums We're All Gonna Die! and Show Must Go On, respectively.
In addition to being an active recording artist, he is also the CEO of independent record label Monumental Records. The record label was originally founded in 2013 but was officially registered in 2019. Since then, the label has gone on to release numerous projects from underground artists in the U.K. hip-hop scene. Monumental Records are also known for their clothing brand Monumental Ltd.
Music career[edit]
Not For Replay & Not For Resale (2010–2013)[edit]
In 2012, Krafty made his mixtape debut with Not For Replay. It was released on 21 December, 2012 to coincide with the 2012 phenomena. The mixtape was supported by the single Move On which featured Sneek. The single itself was promoted with an independent music video, released 19 July, 2012.
In 2013, Krafty released his debut album Not For Resale on 29 November, which was originally intended to be a free mixtape. The original mixtape version of Not For Resale was lost due to a computer malfunction, a setback that forced Krafty to start the project from scratch. Only a number of songs survived which were demo versions and some were largely unfinished.
Not For Resale was released via digital streaming platforms as well as on cassette and compact disc.
We're All Gonna Die! (2014-2017)[edit]
On 7 October, 2017, Krafty released his second album We're All Gonna Die! under Monumental Records.
One Man Show & Show Must Go On (2018-2019)[edit]
On 18 April, 2018, Krafty released his previously shelved album One Man Show. The album was originally set to be released as his debut album under Spit Pit Music in 2008. Feeling as though the album should have always been released, Krafty went back and mastered the original songs.
On 1 April, 2019, Krafty released his fourth studio album Show Must Go On under Monumental Records.

Notable Accomplishments[edit]
With regular single releases, Krafty entered the SoundClick Charts and peaked in first place in 2006 and 2007 with songs such as Live My Days and Keep Movin'. In recent years, his songs Bread Crumbs and Run Along have peaked on the Alternative Hip Hop charts on SoundClick at number 20 and 21, respectively. Krafty's music has been played on numerous UK radio stations including BBC Radio 1, CSR FM, Radio Cardiff and more.
Prior to the release of his first album, Not For Resale, the single I Wanna Get Signed debuted on BBC Music Introducing presented by Jacob Rickard in 2011. The single was then supported by 105.9 Academy FM (Folkestone) and other local radio stations in the UK.
In 2009, Krafty's freestyle and interview on Bebo's web-show "B-Box" accumulated over a million views in it's first week. The show also featured the likes of Little Mix, N-Dubz and Flo Rida to name a few.
Shortly after the release of Krafty's second album, We're All Gonna Die!, the single It's Always You featuring singer-songwriter Lucy Pearson was aired on BBC Introducing Norfolk by Sophie Little.
