Kugonza Isaac (born 21 January 1988) is a Ugandan journalist, television producer, media executive, and cinematographer. He is the current Chief Executive Officer of Hope Channel Uganda, a faith-based television station affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Kugonza is recognized for his contributions to Uganda’s broadcast media industry through his work with NTV Uganda, Delta TV, and other production ventures.

Early life and education

Kugonza was born in Uganda on 21 January 1988. He studied at Omega College School and later obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Makerere University. He also holds a Diploma in Radio, Television, and Film Production from the Uganda Film and Television Institute. As of 2024, he also holds a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication at Amity University.

Career

Hope Channel Uganda

As CEO of Hope Channel in Uganda, Kugonza oversees strategic planning, content development, training, and alignment with global Adventist media initiatives. He has led efforts to increase digital engagement, enhance production quality, and strengthen regulatory compliance with the Uganda Communications Commission.

NTV Uganda

Kugonza served as a video editor, graphics animator, and later as a television producer at NTV Uganda. His responsibilities included editing, show development, scripting, and managing production timelines. He was instrumental in the creation of several youth-oriented and religious programs.

Delta TV

At Delta TV Uganda, he worked as a newscast director and reporter. His role included newsroom oversight, reviewing stories, attending major events, and producing news content for television and online platforms.

Red Pepper Uganda

Earlier in his career, Kugonza worked as a photojournalist and entertainment reporter at the tabloid Red Pepper. His responsibilities involved event coverage, interviews, transcription, and visual storytelling.
