Kusuma Hanumantharayappa
Kusuma Hanumantharayappa is an Indian professor and politician belonging to the Indian National Congress (INC) party.[1] She is the INC's candidate for the November 2020 by-election to the vacant Rajarajeshwari Nagara seat of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.[2][3][4]
Kusuma is an engineering graduate. She had obtained her undergraduate degree in computer science at Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology in Bengaluru.[4] She then studied in the University of Massachusetts in Boston, where she obtained an M. S. in Information Technology. She was an assistant professor of computer science at the Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering before she entered politics.[1]
Kusuma is the daughter of the politician Hanumantharayappa. She is the widow of the late civil servant D. K. Ravi.[1][2]
