Kuzhur Wilson(Malayalam: കുഴൂർ വിൽസൺ) [2] is noted as one of the pioneers of Malayalam blog poetry and social media journalism. He created the first blog for Malayalam poetry, titled Achadi Malayalam Naadukadathiya Kavithakal (Poetry Banished by Malayalam in Print)[3]. Along with fellow blog poets, he championed the cause of Malayalam web poetry. In 2016, the youth mission of Kerala government conferred the title of ‘Literary Youth Icon’ on Kuzhur Wilson,[4] for his literary contributions. He has 15 books to his credit, including the translated volumes in English and Spanish.[5]

Life & Literature[edit]

Kuzhur Wilson was born in 1975 to Mullakkattuparambil Ousep and Annamkutti at Kuzhur, a village in Thrissur district. He had his elementary education at Eravathoor Sri Krishna Vilasam LP School and Airanikkulam LP School. He continued his studies at Panambilli Smaraka College(Chalakkudi), St. Thomas (Kottakkal), SCMS Cochin, and Sri Sankara University (Kalady) respectively.[6] His first collection of poetry ‘Urakkam Oru Kanyasthree’ came out in 1998. His poems have been translated into Tamil, Hindi, English, Arabic, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. Some of his poems have found place in the educational curriculum in the universities of Kerala. He is also well known in the middle east as a poet and a cultural activist. [7]
